Options & Pricing

Salem PowerChoice offers three alternatives to National Grid’s Basic Service. The default program offering is PowerChoice Standard, which includes an additional 15% of your electricity from renewable energy projects in New England, over and above the minimum amount required by state law. As a new participant in Salem PowerChoice, you will be enrolled in PowerChoice Standard unless you choose one of the other options.

Electricity supplier: Salem’s current electricity supplier is Dynegy, which means Dynegy will be listed on your National Grid bill. See an example National Grid bill.

Electricity mix: The program’s electricity supplier is required to provide an energy mix disclosure label that offers details about all of the sources of electricity provided. Visit the Resources page to download the most recent label.

NOTE: Prices for PowerChoice Standard, PowerChoice Plus, and PowerChoice Basic include a $0.001 /kWh administration fee. Program prices could increase as a result of a change in law that results in a direct, material increase in costs during the term of the electricity supply agreement.
