Enroll in Watertown Electricity Choice
|Please note: Enrollment in Watertown Electricity Choice will be AUTOMATIC for most Watertown electricity customers. If you will be automatically enrolled, no action is required.|
New electricity customers in Watertown will be automatically enrolled in Watertown Electricity Choice. This automatic enrollment model is state law.
You will receive a letter in the mail from the Town with information about the program before enrollment occurs. The letter will include the Town seal, the Watertown Electricity Choice name, and Town Manager Michael Driscoll’s name at the bottom.
|Participation in Watertown Electricity Choice is not required. You are free to opt out of the program before being enrolled and to opt out any time after enrollment with no fee or penalty.|
- If you have an existing electricity account and a contract with an electricity supplier, you will not automatically be enrolled, but you may participate in the program. We recommend that you carefully check the terms and conditions of your supplier agreement. Your ability to terminate your agreement with your supplier may be restricted.If you decide to enroll, be sure your current supplier has returned your electricity account to Eversource’s Basic Service before calling Direct Energy at 1-866-968-8065. If you decide to wait until the end of your current electricity supply contract before enrolling, be sure to clearly tell your electricity supplier to return you to Eversource’s Basic Service at the end of your contract and not to keep you enrolled past the end of your contract.
- If you previously opted out and now wish to enroll, you are not guaranteed the Watertown Electricity Choice price. The electricity supplier may charge you a market price. To find out whether your account will receive the program price or a market price, please call Direct Energy at 1-866-968-8065.
