  • Pepperell Greener provides 50% of your electricity from new renewable sources in the New England region.
  • Pepperell 100% Green provides 100% of your electricity from new renewable sources in the New England region.
  • Pepperell Basic provides the minimum amount of your electricity from new renewable resources required by law, which is 24% in 2024.

Buying renewable energy refers to the purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). What are RECs?

* In addition to buying RECs from new renewable energy sources in the New England region, Pepperell’s electricity supplier is also required by state law to purchase RECs from other sources, including sources that are not new, are renewable but not clean, such as waste to energy, or are clean but not renewable, such as nuclear. This additional purchase must be made even if the total amount of RECs purchased from either clean or renewable sources exceeds 100% of the electricity used by Pepperell Community Electricity participants.
