Using the group buying power of our community, Needham Power Choice will provide Needham residents and businesses with:

More electricity from renewable sources for less than Eversource

Needham Power Choice will automatically provide an additional 15% of your electricity from new renewable sources right here in New England beyond what Eversource provides. And Needham’s price will be lower than Eversource’s residential and small business prices in effect from February 1 – July 31, 2025 (though future savings can’t be guaranteed). To help stimulate the development of more clean electricity on our local grid, Needham prioritizes buying from renewable energy sources in our region.

 

Three new electricity supply choices 

Needham Power Choice will provide three new choices for the electricity supply part of your bill. You can automatically receive an additional 15% of your electricity from renewable sources, or you can choose to receive 100% of your electricity from renewable sources or just the minimum required by law.

 

Stable and consistent pricing 

Needham Power Choice will offer long-term prices for the electricity supply part of your bill that are fixed until March 2027. In comparison, Eversource’s prices change seasonally, every 6 months or less. Participating in Needham Power Choice will make your electricity supply price predictable and stable and will protect you from seasonal spikes.

 

Consumer protections

Needham Power Choice has been designed with consumer protections. Chief among them, the program has no hidden fees, and you have the freedom to opt out of, or leave, the program at any time with no penalty. This feature makes the program different from many private electricity supply contracts, which may include minimum participation periods and early-termination fees.
