Electricity prices are rising this winter!

Participating in Lincoln Green Energy Choice can protect you

On January 1, Eversource’s electricity supply price for residential customers will rise to a 14-year high of 15.764 ¢/kWh. This new price will be in place for 6 months, until June 30, 2022. Lincoln Green Energy Choice can protect you from this price increase.

By enrolling in the program, you remain an Eversource customer, but Eversource will calculate the supply charge portion of your electricity bill using a lower Lincoln price instead of their higher price.

Lincoln Green Energy Choice offers 3 options, including two cleaner electricity options. Prices for all three options are lower than Eversource’s upcoming price.

Lincoln Green Energy Choice program options

  • Lincoln Standard Green – 11.725 ¢/kWh – Receive at least 47% of your electricity from renewable sources in New England
  • Lincoln 100% Green – 14.043 ¢/kWh – Receive all of your electricity from renewable sources in New England
  • Lincoln Basic – 10.651 ¢/kWh – Receive just the minimum amount of renewable energy required by law

In addition to lower rates than Eversource, all three Lincoln prices offer long-term price stability. While Eversource’s residential prices change every 6 months, Lincoln Green Energy Choice prices will not change until January 2023.

How do I know if I'm already enrolled?

Look at your bill to determine if you are enrolled.

  • The first page of your Eversource bill will show that your electricity supplier is First Point Power – Lincoln Green Energy Choice.
  • The second page of your Eversource bill will show that a Lincoln price is being used to calculate the Supply charge portion of your bill.

How do I enroll?

Enrolling is easy, and you can enroll by phone or online.

  • By phone: Call customer support with Lincoln’s program consultants at 1-844-651-8919 and provide your electricity account information over the phone.
  • Online: Enter your Eversource account information into the online form.

Remember that it typically takes two billing cycles for the program to appear on your bill.

What happens if the power goes out?

Contact Eversource as usual. You will remain  an Eversource customer, and Eversource will continue to be responsible for delivering your electricity and addressing power outages.
