|The City of Chelsea is developing a plan for an electricity aggregation program called Chelsea Electricity Choice. Chelsea Electricity Choice is a form of group electricity purchasing known as municipal electricity aggregation. The program is a City alternative to the electricity offers that you receive in the mail, over the phone, or at your door, but without high pressure or fees.
To launch the program, the City must first develop an Aggregation Plan, which is a document that describes how the program will work and meet regulatory requirements. Chelsea Electricity Choice will launch once the City’s Aggregation Plan is approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities. The planning and regulatory approval process is expected to require several months.
Chelsea’s draft Aggregation Plan will be available for public review and comment from December 1 until December 22, 2020.
