Your options are as follows. Program and Eversource prices are available below for comparison.

  • Standard Green is the default program offering. Standard Green participants contribute directly to the development of a new solar project in Cambridge and will receive additional renewable energy from that solar project once it is up and running. All new Eversource Basic Service customers in Cambridge will be automatically enrolled in Standard Green, unless they choose the 100% Green Plus option or opt out. 
  • 100% Green Plus is an option you may choose to enroll in. 100% Green Plus participants receive 100% renewable energy (100% Massachusetts Class I RECs). They will also contribute directly to the development of a new solar project in Cambridge and will receive additional renewable energy from that solar project once it is up and running.

Price 11.12 ¢/kWh for residential, small business, and medium & large business accounts
Renewable energy content Provides minimum renewable energy requirements, and will provide additional renewable energy from the new Cambridge solar project once it is up and running.

100% GREEN PLUS January 2019 – January 2021 meter reads
Price 11.94 ¢/kWh for residential, small business, and medium & large business accounts
Renewable energy content 100% renewable energy, all from renewable energy projects located in New England (Massachusetts 100% Class I Recs), and will provide additional renewable energy from the new Cambridge solar project once it is up and running
Exit terms Leave any time. No exit charge.

NOTE: Prices for both Standard Green and 100% Green Plus include a 0.2 ¢/kWh charge to support the development of a new solar energy project in Cambridge and a 0.075 ¢/kWh administration fee. Program prices apply only to the electricity supply portion of your Eversource electricity bill. Program prices could increase as a result of a change in law that results in a direct, material increase in costs during the term of the electricity supply agreement. Delivery charges on your Eversource electricity bill are not affected by the Cambridge Community Electricity program.

Price term Rate terms are:

Eversource’s fixed Basic Service rates will next change on January 1, 2020 for residential and small business, and on October 1, 2019 for large business accounts.
