Greenfield Light & Power is a City electricity aggregation program, which is a group electricity purchasing program for Greenfield residents and businesses.

Greenfield Light & Power gives electricity customers in Greenfield a City-vetted alternative to Eversource’s Basic Service and other electricity supply offers in the marketplace, 100% renewable electricity, and long-term, stable pricing (though savings compared with Eversource’s Basic Service prices cannot be guaranteed).

Cleaner electricity and consumer-friendly choices

You may choose between three 100%-renewable options in Greenfield Light & Power. All three options provide all of your electricity from renewable sources. The options differ in the amount of renewable energy included from new projects in the New England region vs. the amount of renewable energy included from outside of New England. The more renewable energy you buy from new projects in our region, the more you support the development of renewable energy on our local grid.

Participate	New electricity accounts in Greenfield will be eligible for automatic enrollment in Greenfield Light & Power on a periodic basis and after receiving a notice in the mail from the City. You may also choose to enroll online or with a phone call. Learn about enrolling.
Compare the cost	Use the online calculator to compare program prices with the most recent 12-month average of Eversource’s Basic Service prices and to see the greenhouse gas emissions avoided by participating in Greenfield Light & Power. Or compare program prices with Eversource’s current Basic Service prices.
How it works	A municipal electricity aggregation is a group electricity purchasing program. Participating in Greenfield Light & Power will change your electricity supplier and the price Eversource uses to calculate the Supply charge on your electric bill, but participating will not replace Eversource as your electric utility. If you are eligible for a low-income discount or fuel assistance, you will continue to receive that discount with no change. How aggregation works.

Please note that, while the Greenfield Light & Power Program offers the potential for savings when compared with Eversource’s Basic Service prices, there is no guarantee of savings. This is because Eversource’s prices change seasonally, and their future prices are unknown.
