The Cambridge Community Electricity Program is a City electricity aggregation program that supports the development of local renewable energy projects. The program also offers the potential for savings compared with Eversource’s Basic Service prices (though savings cannot be guaranteed), and it provides a City-vetted alternative to Eversource’s Basic Service and to other electricity offers in the marketplace.

Participate

 New electricity accounts in Cambridge will be eligible for automatic enrollment in the Cambridge Community Electricity Program on a periodic basis and after receiving a notice by mail from the City. You may also choose to enroll online or with a phone call. Learn more.

 Use this online calculator to compare the Cambridge Community Electricity Program prices with the most recent 12-month average of Eversource’s Basic Service prices and see the greenhouse gas emissions impact of opting up to the 100% Green Plus option.

How it works

 A municipal electricity aggregation is a group electricity purchasing program. Participating in the Cambridge Community Electricity Program will change your electricity supplier and the price Eversource uses to calculate the Supply charge on your electric bill, but participating will not replace Eversource as your electric utility. Make sure you’re enrolled

The Cambridge Community Electricity Program is integrated into your existing Eversource electric bill. Check your bill. If the supplier listed is Cambridge Comm Elec Direct Energy, then you’re enrolled.
